Highlights

• Updated input module app to 3.15
• Modified the F2 key in the F12 Boot Menu to go to the setup menu to allow easier navigation to secure boot settings
• Enhanced the Power On AC behavior, allowing the feature to work correctly without requiring the system to boot into the Operating System at least once for initialization
• Fixed an issue where the POST memory diagnostic was limited to a maximum of 64GB
• Fixed an issue where the system was unable to boot from partially locked self-encrypting drives (SEDs)
• Fixed an issue where the CPU frequency could become locked at 600MHz under energy(battery) saver mode
• Fixed an issue where text strings were truncated at the bottom of the scroll bar area
• Security fix: CVE-2025-62626 — Improper handling of insufficient entropy in AMD CPUs could allow a local attacker to influence RDSEED values (CVSS 7.2)
• Security fix: CVE-2025-54502 — Incorrect use of boot service in AMD APCB SMM driver could allow a privileged local attacker to achieve privilege escalation (CVSS 7.1)
• Security fix: CVE-20225-54514 — Improper isolation of shared resources could allow a malicious local attacker with high privileges to achieve partial loss of integrity (CVSS 4.8)
• You can downgrade to a previous BIOS version from 3.05

Installation

You can check your current BIOS version following the steps here to determine if you are on the latest release.

Note

You must update with a charger attached.

Linux

Framework firmware is published to LVFS and updates via fwupd, which ships by default on most modern distributions.

fwupdmgr refresh --force
fwupdmgr get-updates
fwupdmgr update

Caution

LVFS may not update if the battery is at 100%.
If you experience issues, discharge to 95%, plug AC back in, then re-run fwupdmgr update.

Windows

1. Download the Framework Laptop 16 AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series BIOS 3.05 Windows Installer.
2. Run the .exe and click "Yes" when prompted to reboot.
3. Wait for the firmware progress bar to complete — the system will reboot automatically. Do not interrupt.
4. Download and install the Windows Driver Bundle v1.02 for your system if you are currently using a previous Driver Bundle release, or you are installing the Driver Bundle for the first time.

EFI Shell Update

Note

If you use the EFI shell update with Windows, you should suspend Bitlocker if enabled before updating using the EFI updater.
1. Download the EFI Shell Update v3.05.
2. Extract contents of zip folder to a FAT32 formatted USB drive. Cleanly unmount the drive before physically removing it, otherwise the BIOS update may not function correctly.
3. Attach a charger to your device while updating.
4. Boot your system while pressing F12 and boot from the thumb drive.
5. Let startup.nsh run automatically.
6. Follow the instructions to install the update.

Known Issues

• Intermittent CPU frequency lock at 600MHz following S3/Modern Standby resume.
• No sound output through BT devices.

If you experience an issue with the update that is related to your system firmware, please post as complete a description as you can, including relevant system information and external peripherals. Please note that we do not currently have a SLA for responding to issues on github, but we will be reviewing them through the bios release process, and will review them for future updates as well.
